Update From Fusion

October 12, 2008

I just realized tonight of how horrible I am at blogging.  The last time I blogged before tonight was in August, OOPS!   Its been a little over a month now since we have split the High School into its own group and the College/ 20 Somethings into a different group.  Even after just one month we are seeing the fruit of the decision that we made to split the groups.  The college group had about 20 people in attendance last night  and this last week we had 14  students  come to our High School night.  Already we have seen new people in both groups that we had not seen before.

Varsity Fusion has really only been going for just over a month but we have had a great time in the last month or so.  Right now our group meets on Tuesday nights at the Carlson building and it is more of a small group feel at the moment.  We are just about to wrap up our parables series this next week.  I have had a whole line up of the staff pastors and several other guys from Element speak to the Varsity students.  I’m really excited to see where this group goes and the new students that we are able to get plugged in.

JV Fusion is an adventure each week.  Actually, anything involving Jr. High students is an adventure.  This is such a fun group for so many reasons.  One thing I notice about Jr. High is that they typically think you are cool no matter what.  Our Jr. High group meets on Wednesday nights and we have a full worship service going for them.  I prepare a lesson every week for this group and Morgan Clark leads us in worship.  Jerry James, my resident game expert is amazing at thinking up great games for Jr. High.

I’m excited about where these groups will go in the next year.  More than anything though I am excited about seeing lives changed in these two ministries.  Just a couple weeks ago we had the privlidge of leading 7 Jr. High students to the Lord,  what a blessing!
